December 19-23 Happenings!

The last week of school in 2016!  With all of the holiday excitement I am surprised we got anything done this week!  Happy Holidays!

Reading
Our story for this week was Little Quack, by Lauren Thompson.  This story is about five little ducklings who are scared to go swimming with their mama in the pond.  The ducklings take some time, but eventually become brave enough to jump in!  Once the ducklings make the plunge, they are so proud of themselves.  We went around our circle and gave each friend a chance to share something we did that we were scared or nervous about at first.

Fundations
This week we reviewed all our letters and their sounds!

Centers

Fundations Center
The kiddos completed four pages in their Fundations notebooks.  They identified letters and drew a line to the correct keyword picture.

Art Center
The kiddos made paper plate menorahs in honor of Hanukkah!

Pocket Chart
The kiddos worked together to play a game called "Where is Mr. Crayon?"  They took turns hiding a crayon behind a letter and then trying to guess where it was hidden!

Work with Miss Farr
The kiddos completed a letter/sound identification assessment with me.

Handwriting Center
The boys and girls traced and wrote every letter once.  They worked super hard to make the letters correctly!

Drawing Center
The kiddos drew the next two pictures in their drawing books.

ABC Center
The kiddos filled in missing letters on mittens!

Writing Center
The boys and girls wrote a sentence and drew a picture to tell what they can do now that they couldn't do when they were younger.

Math
This week we finished the chapter on numbers to 12.  We took our chapter test on Friday.  The kiddos did a great job!
