November 21-23 Happenings!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
We had so much fun preparing for Thanksgiving with a lot of learning experiences with turkeys and a little old lady who had a pie!

Reading
The weather is getting colder and animals are getting ready to hibernate, so this week we read Bear Snores On by Karma Wilson.  In this story bear sleeps in his den while his friends come over and have a party!  Bear eventually wakes up from a pepper fleck that made him sneeze and he is so sad that he missed the fun!  I absolutely love this story- if you haven't already, definitely check it out!

Centers

Listening Center 1
The kiddos listened to the story Run, Turkey, Run! by Diane Mayr.  They loved this story and enjoyed drawing pictures of their favorite parts!

Game Center
The boys and girls played "Turkey Land" with their friends!

Listening Center 2
The students listened as a parent volunteer read the story I Know An Old Lady Who Swallowed a Pie!  They then worked together to sequence the food the old lady ate!

Writing Center
The boys and girls walked around the room and searched for the food the old lady ate!  Once they found the food, they copied down what it was!

Math
On Monday we completed two Thanksgiving math centers!  For the first center, the kiddos filled in missing numbers on turkey feathers.  They then colored each number (feather) a specific color!

For the second center, the boys and girls played a roll and cover game with a partner.  They took turns rolling a die and then using a counter, covered the number the die landed on!

TURKEY HATS ON WEDNESDAY!!
This is one of my favorite Thanksgiving traditions with my kiddos!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!
