March 14 - 18 Happenings!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

Another fun week in our class!  David Ira Rottenberg, the author of Gwendolyn the Graceful Pig came for a visit on Tuesday.  He was joined by students from the Andover School of Ballet who danced and acted out the story while he read.  The children were great listeners!

Thursday, we celebrated St. Patrick's Day!  Our classroom was a mess when we arrived at school!  We definitely had a leprechaun visitor who left shamrocks everywhere, mixed all of the chairs up, and left a pot of gold with pencils!

Our story this week was Abuela by Arthur Dorros.  The story is about a girl who goes on adventures with her grandma!  We learned a lot of Spanish words and phrases like gato (cat), oso (bear), and cerca del mar (near the sea)!  In writing workshop, we started writing stories about our grandparents and what we like to do with them!  The past two weeks our sharing has also focused on grandparents.
