Sorry for another late post! Its officially June and the year is coming to an end!
This week we read the book Building Beavers by Kathleen Martin-James. This book taught us all about beavers - about how their tails help them balance, swim and scare off predators, and all about how they build their lodges and their dams! The kiddos loved this story.
Work Board
Science Center
The boys and girls worked in small groups to build their own beaver dams! Before building, they made a prediction about what they thought would happen! Then they used Popsicle sticks, sand, and pebbles to see if they could keep water from moving from one side of the dishpan to the other!
Seatwork Center
The kiddos worked on editing and re-writing their stories for the publishing party!
Clipboard Cruising
The boys and girls walked around the room and searched for words that begin with all of the letters in SUMMER!
Writing Center
The kiddos wrote a sentence and drew a picture to tell us what they learned about beavers!
Art Center
The kiddos made rockets for the hallway!
